Hang Kia and Pa Co are two highland communes in Mai Chau district, the northwestern mountainous province of Hoa Binh. They are located within the Hang Kia – Pa Co Nature Reserve. Over 90% of the population is from the Mong ethnic group. With its pristine landscapes, majestic mountains, and well-preserved cultural heritage, this area has great potential to become a popular tourist destination in the Northwest region of Vietnam.

The Mong ethnic minority people in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai are glowing with pride after their “khen” (panpipe) was recognised recently as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The northern mountainous province of Ha Giang is gearing up for the second Mong ethnic cultural festival, which will take place in the locality on November 18-20.
