Miss Vietnam 2018 contest launched

Young women from across the country are encouraged to participate in the national Miss Vietnam 2018 competition, which has just been launched.

HCM City (VNA) - Youngwomen from across the country are encouraged to participate in the nationalMiss♑ Vietnam 2018 competition, which has just been launched💧.   

Women aged 18 to 26 who are atleast 1.65m tall and have had no cosmetic surgery are eligible to enter thecontest. The selective rounds of Miss Vietnam 2018 will begin in August. The contest organisers are Tien Phong newspaperin cooperation with the Vietnam Women’s Association and Sen Vang Agency. They have invited a group ofexperts in the field to select 30 candidates for the semifinal rounds in NgheAn and Binh Dinh provinces.      At the semifinals scheduled to beheld in mid-September, the contestants will compete in the categories oftraditional costumes, swimsuits, question-and-answer sessions and evening wear. They will also take part in twoadditional competitions highlighting their talent and charity work. Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh willsupport contestants during the event. Five finalists will compete onthe final night on September 22 at Phu Tho Gymnasium in HCM City’sTan Binh district.  The winner will receive 500million VND (24,000 USD) in cash and gifts worth several hundred millionsof Vietnam dong, whilethe runner-ups will take home 200 million VND (9,500 USD) each. The winner will represent Vietnam in theglobal competition Miss World 2018.   Organisers will also present MissCharming Face, Miss Sports and Miss Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditionallong dress) and Miss Charity. The event will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television. Miss Vietnam began in 1988 andhas been organised every two years. The contest has encouraged many young womento demonstrate their talent in careers and charity and social activities.-VNA
