Ministry plans Tet gifts for revolution contributors

Hanoi (VNA)
- The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) will submit a plan to present Lunar New Year gifts to people who made contributions to the national revolution to President Truong Tan Sang for his a🐓pproval.

Under the plan, gifts worth 400,000 VND (17.8 USD) and 200,000 VND (8.9 USD) each will be given to those who participated in revolutionary activities up to the August Revolution (August 19, 1945), Heroic Mothers, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, Labour Heros during the Resistance War, and fallen soldiers’ relatives.
War invalids and sick soldiers, as well as veterans affected by toxic chemicals are also among the beneficiaries.
Total expenditure for the presents is estimated at over 437 billion VND (19.4 million USD). In the past five years, the whole country contributed nearly 1.5 trillion VND (66.6 million USD) to the Fund of “paying gratitude”, built more than 55,600 new houses and repaired more than 39,000 houses for those who have rendered service to the nation.-VNA
