HCM City (VNS/VNA) - The Ministry of Transport has taken steps toprevent the increasing number of accidents involving cargo trucks and containertrucks.
Many container trucks have not complied withregulations on the transport of goods.
The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam (DRVN) will be responsible for enforcing regulationsconcerning transportation of goods on container trucks at ports, stations andcargo warehouses.
Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Transport has directed thecity’s Transport Association to improve traffic-safety training for truckdrivers and disseminate information about new inspections.
In addition, the city’s Police Department isexpected to strictly handle container trucks that have not complied with safetyrules, especially in cases in which the containers are not locked securely inthe trailer.
The Vietnam Register Authority under theMinistry of Transport has told container truck drivers to comply with the speedlimit and to ensure traffic safety.
