Vientiane (VNA) – The Association of Vietnamese People inVientiane on September 26 evening held a Mid-Autumn Festival atPhat Tich pagoda for Vietnamese children living in Laos.

The Mid-Autumn or Full-moon Festival is celebrated annuallyon the 15th day of the eighth lunar month which falls on September29 this year.

This is one of the familiar cultural activities thatVietnamese teenagers and children in Laos always look forward to during theyear, and helps Vietnamese culture spread closer to people in the Lao capitalcity.

On this occasion, students of Nguyen Du Lao - VietnameseBilingual School and those from Ton Ca Kindergarten entertained visitors withjoyful performances, and a vibrant lion dance.

The organisers presented 200 scholarships and gifts to Vietnamesechildren./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
