Vientiane (VNA) – The Association of Vietnamese People inVientiane on September 26 evening held a Mid-Autumn Festival atPhat Tich pagoda for Vietnamese children living in Laos.
The Mid-Autumn or Full-moon Festival is celebrated annuallyon the 15th day of the eighth lunar month which falls on September29 this year.
This is one of the familiar cultural activities thatVietnamese teenagers and children in Laos always look forward to during theyear, and helps Vietnamese culture spread closer to people in the Lao capitalcity.
On this occasion, students of Nguyen Du Lao - VietnameseBilingual School and those from Ton Ca Kindergarten entertained visitors withjoyful performances, and a vibrant lion dance.
The organisers presented 200 scholarships and gifts to Vietnamesechildren./.
The upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival has brought a joyful and cheerful atmosphere to Tuyen Quang, as major streets in the northern mountainous city are filled with colourful giant lanterns in afternoon parades. The Tuyen Quang Citadel Festival has been confirmed by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records as having the most unique and largest lanterns in Vietnam.
