Meth, heroin trafficker arrested in Hanoi

Police of Hanoi’s Thach That district have arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly transporting 8,000 methamphetamine pills and two packs of heroin.

Hanoi (VNA) – Police of Hanoi’sThach That district have arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly transporting8,000 methamphetamine pills and two packs of heroin.

Ta Huy Cuong, from Mai Son district, the northern mountainous province of SonLa, was on October 22 found carrying a bag containing methamphetamine pills andheroin at a hostel in Thach That commune, Thach That district, where he stayedwith a woman and his own child.

Cuong confessed that he bought 8,000 methamphetamine pills at a price of 83million VND (3,652 USD) from an ethnic minority person in Son La province tosell in Hanoi and other provinces. He said he will use the two packs of heroin.

Investigations revealed that earlier, Cuong spent six years in prison forillegally storing drugs.

The case is under further investigation.-VNA
