Binh Dinh (VNA) – A series of scientific workshops began in Quy Nhoncity in the central province of Binh Dinh on July 10, as part of the 13th Meet Vietnam programme this year.

The series are set to cover topics of cosmology, neutrino physics and neutrinostudy in Vietnam, with 120 scientists from 20 countries worldwide gathering atthe opening ceremony.

French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary said spoke highly of the InternationalCentre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), the venue of thescientific event.

He said he believes the centre, with its efforts, would help develop a youngergeneration of dedicated scientists.

Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of the Binh Dinh People’s Committee, said his agency isworking with the ICISE to build a cosmology complex, which consists of a spacecentre and exhibition area, and an observatory.

He said the complex is a highlight of the local Quy Hoa science and educationurban area, a future venue for scientific research and innovation inVietnam.-VNA

🍌 Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

🌳 PM chairs national committee's meeting on semiconductor development

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
