Maritime Bank receives EDGE certification for gender parity commitment

The Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Maritime Bank) has been certified by assessment body Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) in recognition of its commitment to gender equality in the workplace.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank(Maritime Bank) has been certified by assessment body Economic Dividends forGender Equality (EDGE) in recognition of its commitment to gender equality inthe workplace.

Maritime Bank is among the first Vietnamese businesses to receive thecertification.

According to General Director of the bank Huynh Buu Quang, Maritime Bank alwaysstrives to create an equitable working environment.

He said the bank provides favourable policies that help its staff balance workand life, including Maritime Bank Care Package for Staff policy, specialpolicies for women during pregnancy and maternity leave and more paid leave formale employers whose wives are on maternity leave.

EDGE Certification is a leading globalassessment methodology and business certification standard for genderequality. It was developed by the EDGE Certified Foundation and launched at theWorld Economic Forum in 2011.

It has been designed to help organisations notonly create an optimal workplace for all, but also benefit from it. It helpsfoster equal opportunities for women and men in the workplace.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
