Eight Vietnamese players and coach Hoang Anh have agreed to take part in the friendly match between Manchester Reds and Vietnam All-Stars in marking the 52nd anniversary of the Vietnam – UK diplomatic ties.

Maung Maung Lwin's goal late in the second half was enough to bring victory to coach Kim Sang-sik's team and put another dent in an already miserable season for one of the English Premier League's former Big Six teams.

The players consist of Do Duy Manh and Nguyen Hai Long (Hanoi FC), Nguyen Hoang Duc (Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club), and Nguyen Van Vi (Thep Xanh Nam Dinh FC).

Three players of the Vietnamese national football team have officially been selected by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) to the ASEAN All-Stars Team which will have a friendly match against Manchester United next month, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced on April 16.

The match, which will take place on May 28, at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is part of the Maybank Challenge Cup and aims to raise funds for Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA), a prestigious charity organisation in Malaysia.
