Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The 21st InvestMalaysia (IMKL 2023), the country’s annual national conference on capital andmoney markets, opened in Kuala Lumpur on March 8.

Themed ‘Reshaping Malaysia’s Narrative: StrengtheningResilience & Sustaining Growth’, the IMKL forum attracted approximately1,500 delegates, including local and foreign fund managers, attending in-personand virtually. The event was co-hosted by the Bursa Malaysia Berhad and MaybankBerhad.

Attending and delivering a speech, Prime Minister AnwarIbrahim said Malaysia will reshape growth by focusing investment on greengrowth sectors.

He announced the Government’s commitment to a 10 million RM (2.2 million USD) seedfunding incentive to assure demand for Malaysian-generated carbon creditstraded on the Bursa Carbon Exchange, which debuted in December last year.

The IMKL 2023 continued to be the capital marketconversation for global fund managers and institutional investors to appreciateMalaysia’s competitive advantage as an attractive and sustainable investmentdestination, said Muhamad Umar Swift, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia./.
