Malaysia inks 40 accords at Defence Services Asia 2024
The 18th Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2024 and the third National Security Asia (NATSEC Asia) 2024 exhibitions concluded on May 9 at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, marking a historic milestone in global defence and security showcases.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA)꧟ – The 18th Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2024 and the third National Security Asia (NATSEC Asia) 2024 exhibitions concluded on May 9 at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, marking a historic milestone in global defence and security showcases.
Specifically, the Malaysian Ministry of Defence signed a total of 40 agreements and four letters of intent, with a total amount of up to 9 billion MYR (more than 1.89 billion USD) and two certificates recognising Malaysian corporate quality. Among the notable letters was the signing with Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd for the purchase of A400M transport aircraft for the Royal Malaysian Air Force, worth 392 million MYR. The ministry also signed an important agreement with BHIC Aeroservices Sdn Bhd to provide on-site support for the supply and service of EC725 helicopters, totaling 378 million MYR
In his closing remarks, Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin stressed the inevitability of investing in emerging defense technologies in the 21st century. He said it is necessary to maintain credible international partnerships to ensure effective defense cooperation.
DSA and NATSEC 2024 brought together the largest number of participating countries and companies ever, with 1,324 companies from 60 countries. The event attracted more than 50,000 trade visitors from 70 countries, up 30% from the 17th edition.
The exhibition demonstrated advances in the production of defense and security equipment, and encouraged wider participation of security experts and stakeholders in the global defense and security industry.
