- Chairspersons of the people’scommittees of centrally-run cities and provinces have been asked to review theoverall impact of COVID-19 on local socio-economic development.

According to a dispatch sent by the Ministry of Planning andInvestment, they must review economic growth in terms of gross regionaldomestic product, State budget collections, exports and imports, tourism,corporate performance (the number of enterprises and consumption levels), andthe lives of local residents and workers and those hit by the pandemic, such asthe poor, social beneficiaries, and ex-revolutionaries.

Localities are also required to suggest measures to supportworkers and enterprises, ensure social welfare, maintain social safety andorder, and step up public capital disbursement.

At the same time, they must exert the utmost effort toachieve socio-economic development goals for 2020 set by the Party CentralCommittee and in resolutions of the National Assembly, the Government, and cityand provincial party congresses and people’s councils.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
