Local referees practise VAR technology in unofficial match

Eighteen referees and assistant referees had a practice session in FIFA’s video assistant referee (VAR) technology in an unofficial match on June 14 in Hanoi, as part of a training course from June 8-18.

Hanoi (VNA)🔴 – Eighteen referees and assistant referees had a practice session in FIFA’s video assistantreferee (VAR) technology in an unofficial match on June 14 in Hanoi, as part of a training course from June 8-18.

The practice, under the supervision by FIFA expert Bhaveshan Moorghen, is the third stage in the training process, which is organised by the Vietnam ProfessionalFootball Joint Stock Company (VPF).

In the past few days, the 18 referees and assistant referees have taken part in the 3A and 3B training stages, which are the low and medium difficulty workout steps. The referees practiced with VAR in small, short-term games.

ꦿ The practice on June 14 is at the 3C level. In this step, the referees took part in an unofficial match lasting 90 minutes.

During the 11-day course, whichruns from June 8-18, the participating referees have achance to practice applying VAR technology in short simulation situations tofamiliarise themselves with the rules as well as use the technology toanalyse situations.

𝄹 After six days of practical training on VAR vehicles, specifically trainingwith two teams playing in the rehearsal for 10 minutes and 30 minutes, thereferees now have entered the crucial training phase with two teams playing in unofficialmatches.

The training process is recordedand sent to FIFA daily and then FIFA experts will assess the generalpractice of each referee. The VAR technology will be onlyofficially applied in Vietnam after FIFA  approves the results of allsteps in verifying VAR stations and the referee training process./.
