Lawmakers agree to issue Resolution on policies, mechanisms for COVID-19 fight

Hanoi (VNA) –The National Assembly Standing Committee offered opinions on the adoption of healthcare policies and mechanisms in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic during ameeting in Hanoi on December 8.

In case the pandemicseriously threatens public health, the Government suggests allowing the HealthMinistry, ministries, agencies and localities to deploy and use human resourcesfor the effort without depending on the scope of professional practice.

Members of the committeeagreed on the need to issue a Resolution on several policies and mechanisms inhealth care field in service of anti-pandemic work.

They suggested supplementingregulations on detailed guidelines on the process and procedures of deployingand assigning tasks to those involved in vaccination, testing and treatment.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hueproposed clearly distinguishing between the State budget and health insurancefund in payment for health check-up and treatment.

Permanent NA Vice ChairmanTran Thanh Man asked the Government to review contents that are yet to beregulated in laws or different from existing laws and ordinances.

🐓 Participants also suggestedthe Health Ministry issue specific regulations on the procurement of medicalequipment and medicines, especially for COVID-19, as well as pay attention tomedical staff at the grassroots level./.
