Vientiane (VNA) – Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone chaired ameeting in Vientiane on February 9 on preparations for its 2024 ASEANChairmanship.
At the meeting of the national steering committee for the preparation andadministration of the 2024 ASEAN Chairmanship Year, participants reviewedpreparations related to accommodations, vehicles and meeting venues.
The discussion also focused on personnel, budget and the contents of the three pillars of the ASEANCommunity, namely the ASEAN Political-Security Community, the ASEAN EconomicCommunity, and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry andCommerce, and Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism were entrusted toprepare contents and agenda of the chairmanship year.
