Laos, Cambodia strengthen collaboration in tourism
The Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation.

Vientiane (VNA) – The Lao Ministry of Information, Culture andTourism and the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism have signed a memorandum ofunderstanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation.
The signing ceremony took place with the framework ofCambodian Minister Thong Khon’s visit to Laos from March 12-15.
The MoU encourages the travel of the two countries’people through package tours organised by private companies.
It also seeks to improve the quality of human resources ofthe sector, and attract more investment to speed up the resumption of tourismactivities between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to make it easier for people to drivefrom Cambodia to Laos and vice versa through simplified immigration proceduresat border crossings, especially when travelling from Laos to coastal areas ofCambodia and from Cambodia to tourist attractions in Laos.
They also agreed to push for more flights between populartourist destinations in Laos and Cambodia./.
Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and his Cambodian counterpart Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who is on an official visit to Laos, on February 13 agreed to work together to further enhance bilateral ties for the benefit of the two countries and their people.
A meeting to further deepen the friendship, solidarity and long-term strategic cooperation between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) was held in Vientiane on February 14.
