Laos, Cambodia send congratulations on CPV’s founding anniversary
The Central Committees of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) have sent messages of congratulations to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee over the CPV’s 88th founding anniversary.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Central Committees of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) have sent messages of congratulations to the Communist Party of Vietnam(CPV) Central Committee over the CPV’s 88th founding anniversary.
The LPRP andLao people warmly congratulate the CPV and the fraternal Vietnamese people overthe great accomplishments and successes they have achieved during the past 88years, the LPRP’s message read.
It stressedthat the LPRP and the Lao people consider the achievements and successes of Vietnam as those of their own, which is a sourceof great encouragement of Laosin the cause of national defence and development.
The LPRP alsonoted with joy that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivecooperation between the two Parties, two States and two peoples have beenconstantly strengthened and expanded in both breadth and depth across allaspects, thus bringing practical benefits for both peoples over the past time.The Lao party especially highlighted the success of the year 2017 which the twocountries had defined as a year of solidarity and friendship.
“TheParty, State and people of Laos will do our best to together with Vietnampreserve, protect and develop the everlasting special solidarity of Laos andVietnam, and pass it down to future generations in the interest of the twonations and for the sake of peace, friendship and cooperation in the region andthe world as a whole,” the LPRP’s Central Committee wrote in the message.
In its message,the CPP also praised the achievements of the CPV and the Government and peopleof Vietnam in carrying outthe Doi Moi (reform) policy, which brought about comprehensive national development,constant improvement of people’s living conditions and continuous enhancement of Vietnam’s position in the internationalarena.
“The CPP highlyvalues the development of the solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensivecooperation between the two Parties, two Governments and two peoples, and isresolved to make efforts to continue consolidating and developing therelationship under the motto ‘good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, andcomprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation”, the message said.
It went on to express the firm belief thatunder the clear-sighted leadership of the CPV headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people will gaineven greater achievements and successfully realize the targets set in theResolution of the 12th National Congress of the CPV.

An art programme highlighting the friendship between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia was held in Hanoi on August 17 to mark the VN-Cambodia Friendship Year and the VN-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year.
The Red Cross of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia signed a humanitarian cooperation agreement for the 2017-2022 period in Hanoi on September 22, aiming to reduce the vulnerability for people and develop the Red Cross and Red Crescent movements.
