Thai Nguyen (VNA) - The Vietnam-LaosFriendship Association of northern Thai Nguyen province on April 11 hosted a celebrationfor the traditional New Year Festival of Laos - Bun Pi May.

The event, held at the University ofInformation and Communication Technology, saw the participation of representativesof the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and many Lao students studying in Thai Nguyen.

The Bun Pi May festival falls on April 13-15,with several rituals to pray for good weather, bumper harvests and a prosperousNew Year.

Addressing the event, a local official extendedgreetings to all Lao students who are studying in the province and asked universitiesto create favourable conditions for their study.

Currently, nearly 1,600 Lao students arestudying at high schools, colleges and universities in Thai Nguyenprovince.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
