The Tay Bac Universityheld a programme on April 13 to celebrate the traditional New Year of Laos –Bunpimay for hundreds of Lao students studying in the northwestern province ofSon La.

The annual Bunpimay festival often takes placefrom April 13-16, becoming a cultural custom that has been practised for longin Laos.

This year’s programme includes two parts: acultural exchange between Vietnamese and Lao students, and the festival’srituals.

Vice rector of the university Doan Duc Lan saidthe annual activity aims to forge connections between Vietnamese and Laostudents, through which tightening the solidarity and friendship between thetwo countries in general.

The Tay Bac University is a prestigious trainingcentre of human resources, scientific research and technological transfer forLaos. 

Eight northern Lao provinces have friendlyrelations and signed comprehensive cooperation agreements with Son La.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
