Lao reporters learn to promote heritage sites from Quang Nam

A delegation of Lao reporters on November 6 visited the central province of Quang Nam to learn from the province’s experience in promoting cultural heritage.
Quang Nam (VNA) – A delegation of Lao reporterson November 6 visited the central province of Quang Nam to learn from theprovince’s experience in promoting cultural heritage.

Receiving the delegation, Vice Director of the provincialDepartment of Information and Communications Vo Van Tho briefed the Laoreporters on the management of heritage sites and different ways to promotethem.

Quang Nam has two World Heritage Sites, four specialnational relic sites, and 62 national and 353 provincial relics.

In 2018, the ancient town of Hoi An and the My Son Sanctuarylured more than 6 million visitors, earning the provincial tourism sector morethan 62 billion VND, he noted.

Promoting these sites helps motivate socio-economicdevelopment and attract investment in the province, contributing to developing thetourism-service sector and improving local incomes, said Tho.

He said that Quang Nam has worked to improve public awarenessand called on the local community to protect and promote the value of the sites,ensuring their sustainability.

Representing the Lao delegation, Phongsa Somsavath, deputyhead of the Department of Journalism under the Ministry of Information, Cultureand Tourism of Laos, thanked Quang Nam for sharing its experience.

He expressed his hope that Quang Nam will continue to fosterfriendship with Lao localities, while strengthening promotions for Laovisitors./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
