Lao, Cambodian students in Vietnam enjoy traditional festivals
Students from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have met at a series of exchanges in Ho Chi Minh City on April 6 to celebrate Laos’s Bun Pi May and Cambodia’s Chol Chnam Thmay New Year Festivals.

The activity is part of a programme to commemorate the 50th anniversaryof the Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties, and the 55th anniversary ofthe Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties. The three countries’ students participatedin sport competitions, cultural exchanges and traditional art performances,hosted by the municipal chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Nguyen Thi Thu, ViceChairwoman of the HCM City People’s Committee said that various exchanges havebeen held regularly, creating opportunities for students to study new cultures. She expressed her beliefthat the students will enhance the good relations of the countries, buildingprosperous nations and an ASEAN community of solidarity, peace and development. At the event, Vietnamesestudents joined Lao and Cambodian friends in rituals to wish them prosperityfor the New Year.
