Lantern Fest 2017 to open Christmas season

HCM City (VNA) - The LanternFestival 2017 will open at Ho Chi Minh City’s Van Phuc Urban Area in Thu Duc districton December 12.  

The event will include cultural and artactivities staged by Vietnamese and Korean artists. 

It will open with a show of hundreds oflanterns in red, yellow and blue, including 45 big lanterns made by a group ofVietnamese and Korean artisans.

A number of Vietnamese music, dance and circusperformances will also be featured.   

The nightly performances will include popstars and young singers such as Diep Lam Anh and Truong Quynh Anh.

The festival’s featured performancesinclude a gala music event on Christmas Eve, which will include 100 singers,dancers and theatre artists in Vietnam and other Asian countries

The artists will stage contemporary musicand dance performances with sound and light effects.

The festival will also include a food andtourist fair with 200 stalls from foreign and domestic companies.

A photo exhibition will introduce colourworks of famous landscapes and tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea,Japan, Singapore and Vietnam.

Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Inter💯governmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
