Land, people of Vietnam in RoK spotlight

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) held an exhibition featuring the land, people and culture of Vietnam in Gyeonggi province, the Republic of Korea, on Jan. 18.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) held an exhibitionfeaturing the land, people and culture of Vietnam in Gyeonggi province,the Republic of Korea, on Jan. 18.

Under the theme“Friendship – the millennial relations”, the exhibition forms part ofactivities to mark the 20 th anniversary of the Vietnam-RoK diplomaticties.

The event was honoured with the presence ofPresident of the Korea International Cooperation Agency Park Dae-won andVietnamese Ambassador in RoK Tran Trong Toan.

“Weselected Vietnam as the first country in the chain of exhibitionsin 2012 since the two countries have conducted many cooperativeprogrammes,” KOICA President Park Dae-won said.

According to Ambassador Toan, the exhibition helps RoK people betterunderstand Vietnam , especially at a time when the country receivesthe largest amount of official development assistance from the RoK andthe two countries’ relations have been elevated to the strategicpartnership.

The visitors will have a chance to enjoy Vietnamese traditional songs staged by Vietnamese artists.

Within the framework of the exhibition, there will be a workshopintroducing traditional culture and the unique cuisine of Vietnam .

The display will last until April. 28./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
