– The Korean Dayprogramme kicked off the in central coastal province of Quang Nam on December15.

The event was jointly held by the provincialPeople’s Committee and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Vietnam incelebration of the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties.

Local artists joined those from the RoK’sGwangyang city to perform traditional music of the two countries. Kpop singersfrom Dongdeok University also cheered up audiences.

Other sidelines activities include the KoreanMovie Days, a photo exhibition on the land, culture and people of the RoK andQuang Nam, a workshop sharing experience in building new areas in Quang Nam andnew village movement in the RoK, and an exchange meeting among students.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam’s People’sCommittee Le Tri Thanh said the RoK is one of the biggest investors in QuangNam province. About 31 Korean firms are operating in the locality with a totalcapital of nearly 250 million USD, generating jobs for nearly 10,000 workers.

Non-governmental orgnaisations from the RoKprovides humanitarian and community development aid packages worth hundreds ofmillions of US dollars for Quang Nam annually, he noted.

In recent year, the RoK has been among countrieshaving the biggest number of tourists to Vietnam’s central coastal province.

Quang Nam has signed friendly cooperativerelations with three Korean localities - Osan, Yongin and Gwangyang, hesaid.-VNA
