Kon Tum, Lao province continue boosting cooperation

The Central Highland province of Kon Tum on Sept. 13 signed a memorandum of understanding with its Lao neighbouring province of Attapeu to continue boosting cooperation in socio-economic development.

The signing took place at a meeting of the two provinces’ leaders in Kon Tum the same day.

Thetwo sides agreed to create favourable conditions for their firms toseek investment and business opportunities, with special focus on theborder economic zones of Bo Y of Kon Tum and Phu Cua of Laos .

Thetwo provinces plans to soon build and effectively operate a jointtourism route under the “three nations – a destination” plan coveringprovinces in central Vietnam , southern Laos and northeasternThailand .

In terms of external relations and culture, the twoprovinces will continue to boost exchange of visits and hold culturalactivities to celebrate the 50 th anniversary of diplomatic tiesbetween Vietnam and Laos and the 35 th anniversary of the signingof the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

Attapeuwill continue to help Kon Tum search and repatriate remains ofVietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts, who died in Laos duringthe past wars.

The two sides will continue coordinating toprotect security in the common border area, focusing on fighting drugand social evils.

Over the past years, Kon Tum and Attapeu haveattained good results in socio-economic development cooperation,especially import-export at the Bo Y-Phu Cua international bordergate./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
