Khanh Hoa: Foreign teachers to teach English in primary schools

A project to use foreign teachers for teaching English will be piloted at a number of primary schools in the central province of Khanh Hoa from February.

Khanh Hoa (VNA) –A project to use foreign teachers for teaching English will be piloted at anumber of primary schools in the central province of Khanh Hoa from February.

The project is hoped to excite pupils in practising listening, speaking, reading andwriting skills, contributing to improving the quality of English teaching and learningunder the National Foreign Language Plan to 2020.


Students in primary schools in Cam Ranh and Nha Trang cities, and DienKhanh and Ninh Hoa districts will benefit from the project.

They will be taught how to work in group and play games using English language.Listening to English songs will help them practise listening and speakingskills.

The project will also offer agood chance for Vietnam’s English teachers in targeted schools to access modernteaching methods and learn from experience of their foreign colleagues, thusimproving their capacity.

Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training HoangThi Ly said foreign teachers joining the project will be managed by authorised agenciesand the training programme will be verified by her agency.-VNA
