Capital has been playing a key role in the development of small and medium sized enterprises. However, 60 percent of them have not had access to capital.

Vietnam ranks 29^th out of 190 countries and territories in credit acc𒅌ess, while small and medium sized enterprises account for 21 ꦬpercent of total outstanding loans in 2017.

According the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam has 670,000 enterprises, of which 97 percent are small and medium sized ones. However, 60 percent of SMEs nationwide have not had access to capital. Therefore, supports from banks and credit institutions would be vital for their development.
