Japanese-styled bus system launched in Binh Duong

A bus system named “Kaze Shuttle” applying Japan’s latest technology was put into use in the southern province of Binh Duong on December 18.

Investedby the Tokyu-Becamex Joint Venture Company, the 22.1 km route connectsThu Dau 1 city and the province’s Integrated Administration Centre (BinhDuong New City).

The system utilises the Japanese know-how suchas running a punctual timetable, serving customers well and providingeducation about safe driving.

Buses operating on the route usecompressed natural gas (CNG), which is environmentally friendly. Each ofthem is equipped with five cameras to supervise activities on it.

Accordingto Nakata Yasuyuki, General Director of Becamex Tokyu Bus Co., Ltd, asubsidiary of Becamex Tokyu Joint Venture, the name of Kaze Shuttlecomes from the liberation “Kaze”, which means the “wind” in Japanese.

”Webelieve that it is like a wind that blows everywhere, connecting a vastarea, our busses will be a beloved public transportation of Vietnamesepeople,” he said.

Local authorities have decided to present 3,000free bus tickets for public servants personnel in a bid to encouragethem to go to work by public transport means in the future.-VNA
