Japanese firms, Vietnamese students join exchange

An exchange between 17 firms from the Japanese region of Kyushu and Vietnamese students in five local universities took place in Fukuoka prefecture on April 14.

Tokyo (VNA) – An exchange between 17 firms fromthe Japanese region of Kyushu and Vietnamese students in five localuniversities took place in Fukuoka prefecture on April 14.

Students are from Kyushu University, Ritsumeikan AsiaPacific University, the Japan University of Economics, the Kyushu Institute ofInformation Sciences and Kyushu Industrial University.

The event, the second of its kind, enabled students to learnabout job opportunities while affording Kyushu firms a chance to recruit qualifiedstudents.

This year, the number of participating firms rose three-fold,namely Kyushu Electric Power, AEON Kyushu, Kyushu Engineering and Okura hotel. Meanwhile,the number of students at the event also doubled.

The exchange was an annual activity of the Kyushu – VietnamFriendship Association to introduce companies in Kyushu and upcoming projectsin Vietnam, as well as attract more Vietnamese students to local firms aftergraduation.

The event was co-hosted by the Kyushu – Vietnam FriendshipAssociation, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka, the prefectureadministration and the Kyushu Economic Federation.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
