Hanoi (VNA)🐼 – The Vietnam Unionof Friendship Organisations (VUFO) on April 23 held a ceremony to present the“For peace and friendship among nations” insignia to Japanese Ambassador toVietnam Yamada Takio.
Speaking at the ceremony, VUFO PresidentPhan Anh Son said this is a recogition of and an honour to theJapanese diplomat for his contributions to consolidating and promotingthe mutual understanding, friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between thepeople of Vietnam and Japan. Son spoke highly of the ambassador’s contributionsto the activities held last year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties, highlighting his role in boosting the two countries’ cooperation in COVID-19 preventionand control with the Japanese Government providing Vietnam withabout 7.35 million vaccine doses. The VUFO President said he believes that in the coming time, in any position, the Japanese diplomat will continue positive contributions to strengthening and developing the solidarity and the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. For his part, Ambassador Yamada Takioexpressed his honour to receive the insignia and affirmed that the Vietnam - Japan friendship willkeep growing. He also pledged to do his best to promote the people-to-peopleexchanges between the two countries./.
A ceremony, co-organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association (VJFA) and the Foreign Ministry, took place in Hanoi on September 21 evening to celebrate five decades of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - 2023).
