iTech Expo 2025 opens in HCM City with over 120 booths

HCM City (VNA) –𓆉 The International Technolo🍨gy Expo 2025 (iTech Expo 2025) kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on July 9.
Organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA) and partners, the event runs through July 11 under the theme “New Tech Empower iFuture”, featuring over 120 booths of domestic and international tech firms from Russia, the Republic of Korea, China, Taiwan (China), the UK, Israel, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Laos.
Showcased technologies include AI, IoT, Big Data, drones, robotics, Holobox, and sector-specific solutions such as EdTech, AgriTech, FinTech, and cybersecurity. A dedicated zone for startups also forms part of the exhibition.
HCA President Lam Nguyen Hai Long said iTech Expo 2025 marks a new step toward developing a comprehensive tech ecosystem and supports digital transformation in line with Resolution 57-NQ/TW. The event also fosters networking and innovation amid global market shifts.
As part of the expo, a special area has been set aside for leaders of 168 wards, communes, and special areas in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities to explore e-administration and digital solutions. Ten selected local tech firms will offer more than 50 solutions focused on public administration, urban infrastructure, environment, education, healthcare, and rural development.
Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology Lam Dinh Thang emphasised the long-term goal of building a synchronised digital governance platform, enhancing economic and social development through technology.
iTech Expo 2025 also introduces a new digital platform for trade management to help businesses connect and optimise cooperation opportunities.
The event also sees seminars, bringing together experts from leading global tech companies, including Dell Technologies, Amazon Web Services, NVIDIA, Acer, Intel, and Logitech, along with major Vietnamese firms such as Viettel, VNPT, CMC Telecom and DigiEx./.
Vietnam will have special incentive mechanisms for data-driven science, technology, and innovation activities as regulated in a new decree issued by the Government on June 30.
Director of the SBV’s Payment Department Pham Anh Tuan said the issuance of Decree 94 provides a legal basis for sandbox participants to trial new products, services, and business models in real-life conditions, ultimately benefiting customers.
A key highlight will be the technology cluster pavilion, showcasing top enterprises selected for their innovation, market potential, and practical applications. These firms will display flagship products and solutions, supported by government policies to strengthen the tech sector.
A report from Fortinet in June revealed that automated scanning attempts had surged to 36,000 per second, a 17% increase from the previous year. Alarmingly, 42% of these were account takeover attacks, and leaks involving 1.7 billion sets of credentials. In Vietnam, data from the National Cybersecurity Association showed that 659,000 cyberattacks were recorded in 2024, affecting approximately 46.15% of government agencies and enterprises.
The introduction of AI robots marks a key step in Hanoi’s efforts to streamline administrative processes, modernise public services, and build a more citizen-friendly government.
Under the Poliburo’s Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, Vietnam aims to be among the top three ASEAN countries and the top 50 globally in AI development by 2030.
With the ambition to become a leading startup and innovation hub in Vietnam and Southeast Asia by 2030, Da Nang has implemented a range of incentives and actively promoted investment in its innovation ecosystem.
According to the Law on Digital Technology Industry, the incentives include full corporate income tax exemption for the first two years and 50 % reduction in the four following years, as well as land rent waivers for three years.

Amid growing global demand, fragile supply chains and intensifying geopolitical conflicts, Vietnam is rapidly emerging as one of the most promising players in the global semiconductor landscape, a seminar heard in Ho Chi Minh City on July 2.
