Israel wants to step up ties with Vietnam: President
Stronger economic cooperation between Israel and Vietnam will benefit both nations, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin affirmed during a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Cao Tran Quoc Hai.

Tel Aviv (VNA)🔯 – Stronger economic cooperation between Israel and Vietnam will benefit both nations, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin affirmed during a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Cao Tran Quoc Hai who came to present his credentials on February 2.
The Israeli President expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s achievements in recent decades. He believed that the South East Asian nation will reap further success in the future.
He said Israel appreciates Vietnam’s potential in human resources, which is the reason why Israel receives hundreds of Vietnamese trainees in the field of agriculture every year.
For his part, the Vietnamese Ambassador briefed the Israeli President about the results of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Ambassador Hai noted that with each country’s strengths and potentials, especially in technology and agriculture, two-way trade will not stop at the current 2 billion USD.
He recommended more high-ranking delegation exchanges to bolster relations, asserting that a free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries, negotiations on which will start in March, will facilitate cooperation between the two nations’ investors and enterprises.
At the meeting, Hai also asked Israel to soon recognise Vietnam as a market economy.-VNA
