Iranian Speaker of Parliament wraps up Vietnam visit
Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Ardeshir Larijani on April 18 concluded his official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Hanoi (VNA) – Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Ardeshir Larijani onApril 18 concluded his official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of NationalAssembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
Whilein Vietnam, Speaker Ali Ardeshir Larijani held talks with National AssemblyChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; paid courtesy visits to Party General SecretaryNguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; and met with Secretary ofthe Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and President of theVietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man.
TheSpeaker received leaders of the Vietnam-Iran Friendship Association andattended the Vietnam-Iran Business Forum. On this occasion, he also laid awreath in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and visited UncleHo’s stilt house and several historical and cultural relic sites.
Duringthe talks and meetings with the Vietnamese leaders, the two sides discussed andagreed on a wide range of measures to step up cooperation in the fields of agriculture,fishery, energy, mining, oil and gas, telecommunications and banking.
Thetwo sides agreed to further boost cooperation in spheres in which Iran has potentialsuch as pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, banking, tourism-culture, broadcastingand exchange of lecturers and students.
Regardingparliamentary cooperation, the two sides consented to increase the exchange of delegationsat all levels, especially between the parliaments’ committees to share experiencesin legislation and supervision.
Thetwo sides agreed to strengthen the role of supervision and accelerate theeffective implementation of deals and agreements signed between the twonations, including those reached by the Inter-governmental Committee of Vietnamand Iran.
Theyalso concurred to coordinate together more closely at regional andinternational forums, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
TheSpeaker’s successful visit contributed to the enhancement and development of friendshipand cooperation between the Vietnamese and Iranian people.-VNA
