HCM City (VNA) – Around 22,000 domestic and foreign visitors areexpected to come to the international exhibitions on food-beverage and on foodprocessing and packing, which kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on August 8.
The 22nd International Exhibition on Food and Beverage andthe 22nd International Exhibition on Food Processing, Packing Technology andEquipment (VietFood & Beverage – ProPack) draw the participation of 550 enterprisesfrom 20 nations and territories showcasing their products in 600 pavilions,including seven national ones of India, Poland, the Republic of Korea,Thailand, China and Vietnam.
Vietnam’s national booth gathers the country’s giants in thefood-beverage field, such as Sabeco, Habeco, Dr. Thanh, and Sagota.
Nguyen Khac Luan, General Director of the Vietnam NationalTrade Fair & Advertising Joint Stock Company (Vinexad), said thatMade-in-Thailand consumer products, food and beverages have been long popularin Vietnam.
However, Thai firms still choose to take part in theVietFood & Beverage – ProPack annually as a way to promote their productsto foreign buyers, including supermarkets and leading retailers.
Pham Thanh Kien, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Departmentof Industry and Trade, stressed that foreign businesses’ presence in Vietnamhas opened up more cooperation opportunities for investment and production inexport processing and industrial zones, creating jobs for labourers andboosting technology transfer and production and business.
It has also fostered competitiveness and made domestic firmsto reform to attract consumers, Kien added.
