HCM City (VNA) – The 2019International Environment and Energy Technology Exhibition (Entech Vietnam2019) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on June 12.

The exhibition drew the participation140 organisations and firms, which have introduced at 175 pavilions hundreds ofproducts and technologies in environmental treatment, new and renewable energyand environmentally-friendly products.

It offers chances for foreignbusinesses to seek partners in the Vietnamese market in particular and theSoutheast Asian region in general. Meanwhile, Vietnamese firms may seektechnologies and partners to improve capacity for domestic energy andenvironment projects.

Notably, for the first time, an area of100 sq.m. was zoned off for an exhibition on Smart City, featuring devices andsolutions to smart city development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, DeputyDirector General of the Vietnam Environment Administration Nguyen Hung Thinhsaid that over the time, the Party and State have devised many policies tobolster the development of environment technologies.

The exhibition runs until June 14 atthe Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre.-VNA

🌠 Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
