HCMCity (VNA)ﷺ - Fiveexhibitions - the Vietnam InternationalMachinery Fair,  Vietnam Supporting Industry Fair, Vietnam InternationalRetailtech and Franchise Show, VietnamInternational Premium Products Fair, and Vietnam International Maternity Babyand Kids Fair - opened in HCM City on December 17.

Nguyen Phuong Dong, deputy director of the city'sDepartment of Industry and Trade, said the Vietnam International Machinery Fair and theVietnam Supporting Industry Fair have around 250 booths set up by local andforeign firms based in Vietnam. On display are supporting industry products, metalproducts and metalworking solutions, automation solutions and motion controlsystems, industrial materials and components, electrical equipment,construction machinery, and lifting equipment. The fairs will alsofeature other events like a workshop on opportunities to welcome a newinvestment wave by Vietnamese enterprises post COVID-19 and business matchingactivities. “Organising the fairsamid the COVID-19 pandemic is an effort … to help strengthen linkages betweenVietnam’s supporting industry firmsand product manufacturers and foreign firms, and enable local firms to grabopportunities to expand market share in both domestic and foreign markets,” Dong said. Ahn Seong Ho, the consulgeneral of the Republic of Korea in HCMCity, said the exhibitions offer a good opportunity for both Korean andVietnamese companies to understand consumers’ demand, catch up on market trendsand enhance cooperation. Bui Thi Thanh An, deputy head of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said,“The fairs offer a good chance for local supporting industries firms to accessadvanced global technologies and innovation to enhance their productioncapacity and productivity, which will help them join global supply chains.” Organised by the city'sSupporting Industry Development Centre, the Korea Association of MachineryIndustry, Coex Vietnam, and the HCM City Association of Mechanical –Electrical Enterprises, the fairs willrun at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in District 7 through December 19./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
