Vibrant colors and sophisticated designs performed on a captivating runway with mystic rhythms describes the 15th Vietnam International Fashion Week 2023 that took place on July 13th in Ho Chi Minh City.

Epic opening with flowers on the water

Designer Le Thanh Hoa’s collection “Flowers on the water” kicked off the 15thꦇ Vietnam International Fashion Week. With a metaphoric image of women as beautiful flower species joining hands to create concentric waves of positive energy, his Haute Couture collection embraces women’s diversity.

Le Thanh Hoa strives for sustainable fashion. That explains his inclusion of two oversized coats made from environmentally friendly material, raffia. Supermodel Thanh Hang is the vedette of his collection. She concluded the show with a one-of-a-kind outfit weighing 50kg. The gown, featuring thousands of Swarovski crystals manually sewed into it over a month’s time, perfectly resembles the small waves on a lake’s surface.

“Dung” fashion collection with a breathe of futurism

Istituto Marangoni Fashion Design Academy brought its futuristic collection “Dung” to the show. It carries a message of breaking down traditional fashion prejudices and striving for innovation and dynamism in a fast-paced world. The collection is also a delicate balance of different styles and colors. The main material is knitted fabric with a gradient of colors. The modern touches are delivered through cut-out, see-through and string details.

Similar to Le Thanh Hoa, the Istituto Marangoni Fashion Design Academy also promotes sustainable fashion in a medium of reusable fabric.
Vedette of “Dung” collection is supermodel Vu Thu Phuong. She wore a glittering sequin gown and mystic black gloves. The collection indeed offered admirers a wholesome “fashion party”.

“Synopsis”: Beauty has no limits

Frederick Lee, a rising star in the Asian fashion community from Singapore brought his collection “Synopsis” to fashion week. His collection is inspired by exoticism. It takes audience to a far-flung mystic land where beauty has no limits. Indeed, the collection breaks down fashion stereotypes by using high contrast warm tones. The highlight of his collection is a giant floppy hat with some feathers, which adds an exotic feel to his collection. “Synopsis” also adopts trending techniques, including beading.

Beauty queen Ngoc Chau opened the collection in a red gown with two gigantic 3D roses. Supermodel Anh Thu concluded it with a crystal-beaded yellow gown. Lee’s collection was also an epic end for the Vietnam International Fashion week./.
