More than 365,000 international tourists visited the central coastal city of Da Nang in January, up 28.5 percent year-on-year.

Da Nang (VNA) –
More than 365,000international tourists visited the central coastal city of Da Nang in January,up 28.5 percent year-on-year.

The same month, the city served over 277,000 domesticvacationers, a year-on-year rise of 3.9 percent.

The tourism sector grossed over 2.56 trillionVND (107.6 million USD), up 34.4 percent compared to the previous year’s samemonth.

In February-March, the number of tourists to DaNang is forecast to decline sharply due to the complicated developments of theacute respiratory disease caused by a novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

In the first quarter of 2020, the number ofvisitors to Da Nang will reach an estimated 1.3 million, including over 709,800foreigners, down 31 percent and 17.6 percent, respectively.

Given this situation, the municipal Departmentof Tourism has been implementing a number of measures to prevent the epidemic intourist accommodations./.
