Inspection teams to examine compensation for fishermen in central region
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has requested the establishment of four inspection teams to examine the compensation for residents who were affected by the marine environment incident.

Hanoi (VNA) – PermanentDeputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has requested the establishment of four inspectionteams to examine the compensation for residents who were affected by the marineenvironment incident in the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Triand Thua Thien-Hue last year.
Binh, who is head of the steeringcommittee in charge of overcoming the incident’s aftermath, made the requestduring a meeting of the committee in Hanoi on March 8.
The Deputy PM also asked the fourprovinces to set up their own inspection teams to collect feedback from localpeople and administrations and promptly deal with their difficulties, and acceleratethe payment for affected residents.
Earlier, Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc decided to allocate an advance of 4.68 trillion VND (over 207 millionUSD) for these provinces. By March 6, the localities had disbursed almost 3.6trillion VND, or 76.8 percent of the total, as damages for the targetedhouseholds.
By December 31, 2016, concernedagencies provided 15,027 tonnes of rice free of charge and 59 billion VND (2.56million USD) for fishermen as directed by the government.
Regarding the tasks in the nearfuture, Binh asked ministries and agencies to soon submit a proposal to thePrime Minister on the compensation quota for victims, and continue overseeing HungNghiep Formosa Ha Tinh’s performance of its commitments. -VNA

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh has asked the Ministry of Finance to make an advance payment of 1.68 trillion VND to compensate residents in central coastal provinces for losses caused by a maritime incident.
The central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue have disbursed 3.33 trillion VND out of 4.68 trillion VND advanced by the government following the marine environment incident.
