“Innovation Sweden” events draw crowds in Ho Chi Minh City

Nearly 7,000 students and youngsters joined the Innovation Sweden programme held in Ho Chi Minh City from November 10-30, according to Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Camilla Mellander.

The programme, part of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary ofthe Vietnam-Sweden diplomatic ties, comprised 15 events and activitiesunder the theme of innovative technology, she said.

In particular, a series of workshops on climate change, urban trafficand communications during the programme offered a venue for stateagencies and businesses of both sides to exchange ideas and seektechnological solutions to meet the demand of the modern industrialeconomy, said Mellander.

At the same time, fourdelegations of top Swedish enterprises in technology also participatedin the programme to introduce solutions to urban traffic, environmentalpollution, climate change and natural disasters in Vietnam , sheadded.

Meanwhile, Doan Tuan Linh, Vice Director ofHo Chi Minh City’s Department of External Relations, spoke highly of theprogramme, including exhibitions, conferences, film festivals and musicperformances that introduce the culture, nation and people of Sweden.

The programme helps deepen the understanding of locals in Ho Chi Minh City on Sweden, he stated.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
