Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia, as chair of ASEAN 2023, has unveiled official shirts for heads of member states at the 42nd ASEAN Summit which is scheduled for May 9-11 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.
The East Nusa Tenggara Handicraft Council (NTT Provincial Dekranasda) has prepared shirts made from West Manggarai woven fabrics for leaders attending the upcoming event.
Head of NTT Provincial Dekranasda, Julie Sutrisno Laiskodat said that the province has prepared and sent the shirts to the State Palace. The president himself decided the colour of the shirt for each head of state.
NTT Provincial Dekranasda prepared 12 shirts using special woven fabrics of West Manggarai with “mata manuk" (chicken eye) pattern for 11 ASEAN heads of state and the ASEAN Secretary General.
Furthermore, the NTT Provincial Dekranasda prepared scarves to be used by the spouses of the heads of state or the first ladies in the Spouse Programme. First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo chose the color and model of the shawl to be used.
In accordance with President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo's directives, the attire is made of soft and cool material, she added.
