Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian operator Telkomsel and the Ministry of Communication and Inform𒈔ation (Kominfo) have completed the first validation of Wi-Fi 7 in Indonesia.

It marked a significant step that takes Indonesia into the era of high speed internet of up to 10 Gbps. Wi-Fi 7, the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology, brings many outstanding benefits including much higher Internet speed, more user capacity, lower latency and better energy savings.
Director of Resource Planning at the Directorate-General of SDPPI, Kominfo, Denny Setiawan, emphasised that the agency is committed to continuing to introduce the latest developments in technological development in Indonesia, aiming to improve the Internet access experiences for users. In a June 10 statement, Kominfo emphasised that this cooperation can help accelerate the achievement of Indonesia’s Digital Vision 2045.
Telkomsel VP of Technology Strategy and Consumer Product Innovation Ronald Limoa said that said the company's initiative to integrate the latest technology through the validation of Wi-Fi 7 is a concrete step, in line with Telkomsel's vision to lead in telecommunications services in the region. The Indonesian government hopes that sustainable innovations developed across the world can also be applied in and benefit Indonesia. Therefore, frequency management regulations will continue to be updated according to technological developments, to promote progress in the digital ecosystem and the transformation of the Indonesian telecommunications industry, as well as enhance the competitiveness of the country./.
