Indonesia sets up three security zones for Asian Games
The Asian Games 2018 Organising Committee or INASGOC said that three security zones will be established for the upcoming Asian Games (ASIAD) to prevent vandalism and terrorism.

Jakarta (VNA) – The Asian Games 2018 Organising Committee orINASGOC said that three security zones will be established for the upcomingAsian Games (ASIAD) to prevent vandalism and terrorism which previouslyoccurred at the Main Stadium of the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex inSenayan, Jakarta.
According to INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir, to strengthen security during theevent, only two doors at the sport complex will open, one for accreditedindividuals and one for ticket holders, and there will be three security zones.
The first security checkpoint is the area where people will be searched beforeentering any of the venues, including Gelora Bung Karno in Senayan, Jakarta andJakabaring in Palembang, South Sumatra. They are not allowed to carry anythingexcept their tickets.
INASGOC staff will check the spectators’ tickets in the second zone andfinally, tickets will be checked again to ensure the seat number in the lastzone at the entrance to the arena.
The organising board said cars are banned from entering Gelora Bung Karnostadium during the opening and closing ceremonies. Important guests will haveto use buses to enter the area.
Along with the Gelora Bung Karno and Jakabaring venues, similar securitymeasures will be applied in other sport venues.
The Games will also create an opportunity for the country to improve trafficculture in sport events, including the use of public transport, queuing habitsand maintaining order in public areas.-VNA
