Indonesia plans nearly 13 mln USD for football development

Jakarta (VNA) ✱– Chair of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir has said President Prabowo Subianto mentioned the possibility of increasing state budget funding to local football development from 120 billion IDR to over 200 billion IDR (12.9 million USD).

The funding is used for long-term programmes, including Asian Cup qualifications and also toward the World Cup and the development of local football.
The PSSI is also opening up wide cooperation with private parties to support the funding needs in developing local football. Currently, they have partnered with 19 private sponsors supporting the Indonesian national team. Aside from support from the Government and private parties as sponsors, the PSSI Chairman stressed the need for support from the community, including through purchasing match tickets./.
