Jakatar (VNA) – Indonesian Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini has called on local residents to demonstrate greater care and concern for the elderly community.
As reported by the country’s national news agency Antara, the minister underscored the demographic bonus peak facing Indonesia in 2030, during which the numbers of both productive people and the elderly will increase.
She noted that the lack of families’ participation in caring for the elderly causes many to have to live in social homes.
The minister held that education should be in place for people from their early age to instill the values of caring for others, thereby translating into practical actions and sustaining through generations.
