Jakarta (VNA) – The Indonesian government's programme to build and renovate 3 million homes is expected to help address inequality in access to land, especially in urban areas with high land prices, Deputy Minister ofﷺ Housing and Settlements Fahri Hamzah has said.

This programme will have a significant impact on reducing housing inequality, Hamzah stated during a recent public discussion in Jakarta.
It is part of President Prabowo Subianto's Best Results Quick Programmes (PHTC), launched in response to rural-to-urban migration driven by the search for decent and affordable housing. According to the Ministry of Housing and Settlements, about 9.9 million families are homeless, while 26.9 million others live in uninhabitable houses. To provide adequate housing, the government has outlined three priority steps: renovating 2 million houses in villages, building 1 million new homes in urban areas through strategic partnerships with the private sector, and developing housing in coastal areas./.
