IFC helps universities improve training capacity

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) – a member of the World Bank – signed a cooperation agreement with the Hanoi Architectural University and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture on February 26 to improve training capacity and to build a contingent of construction architects and engineers for green buildings in Vietnam.

HCM City (VNA) – The International FinanceCorporation (IFC) – a member of the World Bank – signed a cooperation agreementwith the Hanoi Architectural University and the Ho Chi Minh City University ofArchitecture on February 26 to improve training capacity and to build acontingent of construction architects and engineers for green buildings inVietnam.

They also opened a training course for design lecturersspecialising in green buildings from February 26-28.

Accordingly, students, architects, and constructionengineers will be equipped with important skills before graduation, learningabout criteria for green buildings, as well as the use and management of designassessment tools.

Within the framework of cooperation between IFC and the Ministryof Construction, the courses will provide international experience in cost-savingand effective energy use, and the construction of green buildings, said deputyhead of the ministry’s Department of Science-Technology and Environment NguyenCong Thinh.

Amid the growing populations in cities and the impacts ofclimate change, green buildings will improve the capacity for resilience tochanging climates and meet the increasing demand for infrastructure, saidexperts. –VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
