Hue Festival has two more sponsors

Thua Thien – Hue (VNA) –ဣ Two more companies haveagreed to provide funding for the Hue Festival in the central province of ThuaThien-Hue.

Under agreements signed on April 19 in Hue City, the VietnamPosts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will sponsor telecom and IT services worth1 billion VND for the festival, while the Vietnam Travel and MarketingTransports JSC (Vietravel) will dole out 1.5 billion VND, becoming a bronzesponsor. This is the 10th time that VNPT has sponsoredtelecoms and IT services for the biennial festival. Meanwhile, Vietravel earlier funded a project to light upHue’s Flag Tower. The Huefestival, which is the 10th edition this year, is scheduled to take place fromApril 27 to May 2.

[Hue Festival 2018 seeks more funding]

Earlier,the province has signed cooperation agreements with five main sponsors for thefestival, namely Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Carlsberg Vietnam TradingCo., Ltd., the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development’s branch inThua Thien-Hue, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and aviation firmJetstar Pacific Airlines, with total funding of more than 21.3 billion VND(936,135 USD).


Themed“Cultural heritage with integration and development – Hue one destination, fiveworld heritages”, the Hue Festival 2018 is expected to draw international arttroupes from France,  the Republic ofKorea, the UK, Mongolia, Japan, Thailand, Russia, Belgium and China.

A wide range of activities will be held aspart of the event including a Buddhism cultural programme, a national festivalof “Hat Van” or “Chau Van” (a traditional art form that combines singing anddancing), a music show featuring songs of late musician Trinh Cong Son, ascientific festival, an international trade fair, a cuisine fair and a poemfestival.

😼 Hue,which was the imperial capital of Vietnam for over 100 years, is home tofive heritages recognised by UNESCO, namely the Hue ancient citadel reliccomplex – a World Cultural Heritage site; Nha Nhac (Hue royal court music)- anintangible cultural heritage item; Nguyen Dynasty’s wood blocks – a documentaryheritage item; Nguyen Dynasty’s Chau ban (royal administrative documents) –part of the Asia-Pacific Register of UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme;and literature on Hue royal architecture - a documentary heritage.-VNA
