HSBC Vietnam partners with Trungnam group in renewable energy projects

HSBC Vietnam has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for evaluating and providing financing solutions with a focus on sustainability with the Trung Nam Construction Investment Corporation (Trungnam Group), one of the largest renewable energy developers in Vietnam, according to Saigon Giai Phong newspaper.

Hanoi (VNA) - HSBCVietnam has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) forevaluating and providing financing solutions with a focus on sustainabilitywith the Trung Nam Construction Investment Corporation (Trungnam Group), one of the largest renewable energy developersin Vietnam, according to Saigon Giai Phong newspaper.

🧸 The LoI marks a further step by the bank in the execution of its commitment to arrange upto 12 billion USD of directand indirect sustainable financing for Vietnam and the corporate sector in theSoutheast Asian nation by 2030, it said.

According to the LoI, HSBC Vietnam will partner with Trung Nam Group toevaluate and provide sustainable financing solutions for the development of Trungnam Group’s renewable energy projects across Vietnam. The bank will leverage on its global investment banking franchise, its longstanding presence in and understanding ofVietnam, its track record and expertise in sustainable finance, as well as its deepunderstanding of various investor pools to devise a suitable financing strategy for Trungnam Group.  Thesupport includes the bank’s consultation and technical support so the group can accesscapital markets in Vietnam and internationally with a focus on sustainability./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
