Quang Nam (VNA) – The 15th Hoi An –Japan cultural exchange opened on August 19 in Hoi An ancient city, the centralprovince of Quang Nam.
The event, co-held by Hoi An city and the Japaneseembassy and agencies in Vietnam, marks 15 years of cooperation and exchangebetween the Vietnamese city and Japan.
It is part of activities which contributes toconserving and promoting the close and friendly relations between the twonations, said Nguyen Van Son, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city People’sCommittee.
The event, which runs until August 20, featuresa plenty of cultural and art activities such as a photo exhibition on thediversification of Vietnamese culture, a Hoi An - Japan art exchange, a Judomartial arts performance and Hoi An - Japan traditional handicrafts, amongothers.
The opening ceremony saw the performances ofartists and bands from Japan and Vietnam.-VNA
